The Kailash and Lhasa season generally runs from late spring to early autumn, when the high passes are open and the weather is most settled. The Saga Dawa festival period is especially meaningful for pilgrims. We will advise the best window for your chosen tour.

Much of the journey sits above 4,000 metres, and the Kailash Kora crosses the Dolma La pass higher still. Our itineraries build in acclimatization days and a measured pace. We encourage you to consult your doctor, stay hydrated, and tell your guide early if you feel unwell.

You do not need to be an athlete, but a reasonable level of fitness helps, especially for the three-day Kora. Gentle daily walking in the weeks before you travel makes a real difference. Our Standard Comfort and helicopter options suit first-time pilgrims and senior travellers.

Layered warm clothing, a good down jacket, sturdy broken-in footwear, sun protection, a refillable water bottle, and any personal medication. We send a full packing list once your tour is confirmed.

The Kailash Kora is a circumambulation of the holy mountain, traditionally completed over three days on foot. It is the spiritual heart of the yatra. We pace it carefully, with support along the way, so you can walk it as a pilgrimage rather than a race.
